Big Wheels, Hoods Up: Donks and G-Bodies in Vegas

Big wheels split the room, and that is half the point. Put a G-body Monte Carlo on a set of tall gold rims and nobody walks past it without an opinion.

These are the shots we pulled from Las Vegas: Monte Carlo SS coupes, a white El Camino, a Malibu wagon and a couple of cars parked so low to the lens that the wheel fills the frame. Look at how much of each car goes into the fitment. The tire is a thin ring of rubber, the wheel opening has to clear all of it, and the stance has to look right sitting still.

Hoods stay up at a show like this because the work does not stop at the wheels. Paint, chrome and the engine bay all have to keep up with the rims. Scroll through and pick your favorite.
